From the past to present, the offering of flowers to the altar is a long tradition for Vietnamese, showing the our respect and sincerity. Offering flowers represents the offering of good and good things in life to the Buddha, the Holy, and the ancestor. This is also an act of reverence to express gratitude even without much material value. Although fake flowers are not disrespectful or wrong, it is better to offer fresh flowers. To offer Buddha, red or yellow flowers should be used. Lotus would be best but peony is also appropriate. To worships the ancestors, choose flowers like chrysanthemum, rose, lily or lotus. But note that you should not choose the already bloomed flowers and should you choose the lily, choose the white ones.
